A Versatile Skill for Modern Wellness Services
Indian Head Massage is a practical treatment centred on the areas where many people experience everyday muscular tension: the upper back, shoulders, neck, scalp, head and face.
The treatment is performed with the client seated comfortably in an upright chair. There is generally no need for the client to undress, and oils are optional. This makes the treatment convenient, adaptable and easy to introduce into many suitable wellness settings.
The course provides both theoretical knowledge and guided practical instruction. You will study the principles of Indian Head Massage before learning how to perform the complete treatment routine safely and professionally.
About the Course
From Essential Theory to Guided Practice
Your training begins with the background and principles of Indian Head Massage. You will explore massage movements, suitable oils, skin and scalp awareness, relevant anatomy and important contraindications.
Once you have completed the theory, you will use the course manual and practical training video to work through the treatment sequence. The routine includes techniques for the shoulders, upper arms, neck, scalp, head, face and ears.
You will also learn how to position the client, adapt your movements, record practical experience and approach each treatment with appropriate care and professionalism.
Why Study This Course
Add a Focused Treatment to Your Skills
Indian Head Massage is a useful option for those who want to learn a shorter, seated massage service without first completing a full-body massage course.
Its simple setup and optional use of oils make it suitable for practitioners who want to offer a convenient relaxation treatment in an appropriate spa, salon, home-based, mobile or workplace wellness setting.
The course may also appeal to existing beauty, massage and wellness practitioners who want to expand their service menu with a focused treatment for the head, neck and shoulder areas.
